TOA Global Joins 2017 PICPA Convention
TOA Global’s strategic partnership with PICPA is among the company’s efforts to revolutionise global accounting teams by helping accounting professionals fast track their careers through continuous training and development.
True to its commitment to pursuing professional and personal development, TOA Global participated in the recently concluded 72nd PICPA Convention as a major sponsor.
Dubbed as “SHINE: Service, honesty, innovation and nation-building through education,” the annual national convention for accountants brought together, under one roof, the most prominent names in the industry to provide seminars designed to enrich accountants’ skills and industry knowledge.
The PICPA Annual National Convention is among the most anticipated events in the industry. This is the only time of the year when Certified Public Accountants (CPA) from all over the country converge to learn from industry experts, exchange views and get the latest updates in our profession.
Fast track your accounting career
For three days (November 23 to 25, 2017), thousands of accountants flocked to the Philippine International Convention Center and we were there to witness the grand event.
TOA Global was all geared up and ready to conquer. Situated at booths 15 and 16, our representatives–Head of Training Salvador Nino Velasco, Head of Talent Acquisition, Reah Mallari, Head of Content, Rachell Grace Olavides, and Recruitment Officer, Oliviera Cardona–welcomed participants and introduced them to the amazing culture of our company which they can find in our recently redesigned website, toaglobal.com.
Those who expressed interest in the open roles we have signed up and got some really cool freebies. But more than these, they got the chance to win a free Xero training course where they can learn valuable skills and insights that can help them add more value to their clients.
Service, honesty, innovation and nation-building through education
True to its theme, the 72nd PICPA Annual Convention has lined up an array of seminars and talks from prominent speakers and industry players in the country.
Our very own Jaypee Lagman, CPA and Chairman, PICPA Pampanga Chapter – Committee on Members Update and Welfare, was among those who participated in the convention. So we caught up with him to inquire about the event.
Over the course of the three-day event, he was able to attend the following:
- Innovations and Disruptions – Impact to Commerce and Industry Sector
- Roundtable Discussion: Are We Ready For The Future? Key Challenges Faced by the CPAs from the Sector
- What’s New with the Standard-setters and Regulators?
- Regulatory Framework of Cyber Security in the Philippines
- Developing the Grassroot Economy: Financial Capacity-building for Entrepreneurs
- Transforming People Inside Out
- Are You Digital: Using Social Media to Market and Grow Your Practice
- Journey of an Unexpected Leader
- Developing Customer Driven Client Solutions
- Business Model of the Future – “The Role of the Professional Accountants”
- Sustainability Reporting
- Taxes: The Road Ahead
He recognised the significance of the opportunities and insights CPAs obtained as these will help them adapt with the changes that will impact their profession. It was a great learning experience to hear experts share their views.
“Being a CPA is both a privilege and a responsibility. Doing service to the public as our thrust and the core reason why we need to continually adhere to both ethical and technical standards of the profession; to strive toward professional excellence; to stand as a key-player in building our nation; to create a global mindset where our competencies are recognized internationally and; to develop proficiencies with constantly changing technology. These are basically what PICPA and TOA Global mutually uphold to every CPA,” said Lagman.
For the thousands of accountants who joined this year’s convention, the learnings they acquired will definitely play a critical role in their growth. They can apply these to their practice to add more value to clients. More importantly, they earned CPD points which they can use when renewing their license.
