TOA Global Celebrates 10th Year of #CollectiveBrilliance Dedicated to the Accounting Industry

ToaGlobal 10 Years Blog 768x402

TOA Global celebrates in December 2023 our 10th year as a professional services business that exclusively serves the accounting industry by connecting accounting firms worldwide with elite accounting talent.

The celebrations include TOAconnect from 4-7 December, with accounting business leaders from Australia and the United States coming over to visit their teams in TOA Global’s Cebu, Clark, Manila, and Tarlac offices.

“I have to pinch myself walking into these offices because it’s not something that I dreamed we would ever build. This business was meant to be my back office for my own firm,” says Nick Sinclair, TOA Global’s Founder and CEO.

When Nick started this business in December 2013, it was called My Cloud People, and focused on his accounting and financial planning practice on Australia’s Gold Coast.

He knew first-hand how having access to experienced and highly skilled accountants and bookkeepers could help accounting practices build their capacity, serve their clients with higher-value services, and thrive amid a changing industry.

Awards will be given to the longest-serving professionals in the business, as part of the Year-End Parties in the Philippines (December 7). Holiday celebrations are also taking place in Cape Town, South Africa (December 1), Texas in the United States (December 15), and Gold Coast in Australia (December 8).

Among the longest-serving leaders in TOA Global is Judith Guintu, who joined 10 years ago and has risen from being the office manager of a small group to the head of client support and services. Watch this interview with Judith to find out what her proudest moment in the business has been, so far.

In the 10 years since Nick first visited the Philippines as part of an Entrepreneurs’ Organisation trip, the business has rebranded to The Outsourced Accountant, then to TOA Global. From a team of six individuals, it now works with 3,700 full-time accountants and corporate support staff, serving more than 1,000 clients.

Advances in cloud-based accounting, the rise of distributed teams, and Artificial Intelligence are among the biggest forces that changed accounting since 2013 and continue to do so today.

“But the main thing that matters is your relationship with your clients and your people,” Nick says. “Our accountants come to work to make an impact on businesses that are helping communities thrive.”

As TOA Global starts the first of our next 10 years, we are in the midst of preparations for TOAcon, the annual conference for our community of clients and accounting industry partners. This will take place from 30 June to 2 July 2024 at the Shangri-La Boracay.
