TOA Global Celebrates With 141 Sportsfest Winners

After 10 weeks of friendly competitions, 141 winners received awards in the annual League of TOA Legends sportsfest.

They were not the only winners, though.

For the nearly 850 employees who signed up and played, the sportsfest created many opportunities to learn about teamwork and effective communication, essential skills in such a relationship-based profession as accounting.

TOA Global’s Vice President of Operations Sharon Kay Antonio thanked the participants for how they “embraced sportsmanship and integrity throughout the sportsfest.”

“Continue to enjoy and display teamwork with everybody in TOA Global.”

Support for a physically active lifestyle

Adults need at least 150 minutes of moderately intense physical exercise (including walking, sports, and active recreation) each week. But one in every three adults is physically inactive, the World Health Organisation has pointed out.

By organising the annual sportsfest, complemented by a year-round Wellbeing Program, TOA Global supports team members as they make better choices for their health. This year’s sportsfest included badminton, basketball, billiards, bowling, chess, Mobile Legends, Scrabble, table tennis, and volleyball.

Precious Joy Castillo from our North American or night shift team in TOA Global Tarlac joined the bowling event, which she enjoyed because it combined “a competitive spirit and camaraderie.”

“It brought together teams from the TOA Global Clark and Tarlac sites. Participants had the opportunity to connect with others outside of their usual circles, forging new friendships and strengthening existing bonds.”

Camaraderie and corporate wellness

Owen JC Compahinay from our night shift team joined the chess competition in Cebu. “I am a competitive person and winning against good players is fun. There’s a quote that goes, ‘Rise and rise again and again until lambs become lions.‘ It reminds me to never give up.”

Corporate wellbeing initiatives like the annual sportsfest are part of the “ease of team connection and engagement” that TOA Global provides its clients, who lead fast-growing accounting firms in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States.

Since 2013, we’ve helped more than 1,180 international clients find the dependable accounting talent they need to grow their firms and reclaim some time for themselves.

Along the way, we’ve enabled more than 4,160 accountants, bookkeepers, and other professionals to build more rewarding careers, with enough time for learning, building relationships, and some friendly competition in their favourite sport.
