What led you to pursue a career in accounting and what has your journey looked like up to this point?
I appreciate accounting as I mature in my life and career because the concept of accounting exists in all aspects of life. You account for all inflows and outflows of everything that goes into your organisation or your business, just as you do with your life. Accounting knowledge is flexible and can be applied in any industry.
What do you enjoy most about your role with your client?
Since I am working in an Australian accounting firm, I enjoy receiving new accounts or clients because I get a chance to learn and access new accounting systems and apply different accounting standards and tax rulings. Through this, I acquire more accounting knowledge.
What valuable skills have you gained through the training programs at TOA Global and how have they helped you work towards your career goals?
Through the Accounting and Bookkeeping training programs at TOA Global I was able to understand more about the work I am doing with Australian accounts. Because of that, I am able to communicate all that the client needs to know. That kind of training can only be acquired at TOA Global.
Through the TOA Tuesday Training program, I was able to improve my interpersonal skills and express myself better, and I feel more confident because I’ve become more aware of the pros and cons of certain behaviours. I understand how I feel and what I can do to become better in various situations. The program certainly helped us during the pandemic, as many people were very anxious at the time.

What are some of the facilities you have access to at work that you find to be the most valuable?
TOA Global gives us free access to the internet, which allows us to reach our families even when we are away from home. The company provides some great facilities in the pantry, like a microwave oven to warm our food and a vending machine which provides free coffee, which I need in order to start the day with energy so I can focus more on work.
What have your favourite experiences been with the client you’ve worked with?
My favourite experiences with my client are whenever he mentors me on how to apply tax rules and shares with me effective ways to handle accounts.
In what ways do you feel you’ve grown since you became a TOA Global team member?
I was able to do lot when I became a TOA Global team member. As an accountant, I was able to learn about and utilise different accounting systems.
Since having a healthy work-life balance is important at TOA Global, I now have time for myself and, most importantly, more time for my kids.
When I compare where I am now to where I was when I first started at TOA Global, I see a lot of improvement. I’ve been able to focus more on my health and go for regular check-ups. I now do things I’ve wanted to for a long time, such as becoming a licensed financial advisor. I also have more time for my community and friends, who I sometimes help to learn more about business.
What do you value the most about the team you work with?
I value the trust and relationships.
What are your aspirations?
My aspiration as an accountant is to help more enterprises and businesses in various industries with their tax compliance, so they can find better accounting processes or solutions that meet their needs. I aspire to help them find strategies to achieve their financial goals and to transfer my knowledge to young accountants so they can better serve our clients and help our community.
What motivates and inspires you?
As a mom and daughter, my mother and my kids are my greatest motivation and inspiration in everything that I do. They are the reason I do what I do, and my dreams for them are the reason I am always aiming for more.
What do you look forward to every day?
Aside from my salary, I look forward to working with my clients and finishing my daily tasks. I also look forward to sharing stories and connecting with my friends.
What do you do in your spare time?
During my spare time, if I have 10 minutes, I catch up with my friends. I also enjoy reading and attending self-help webinars.
