TOA Global Sportsfest 2026

Excellent client service begins with an exceptional employee experience.

As we continue supporting accounting firms and other businesses across the U.S. and Canada, TOA Global is committed to creating an environment where accounting and finance professionals can feel and perform at their best.

That includes sustained learning and career development, wellbeing initiatives, and talent engagement programs like our annual Sportsfest, which we wrapped up in June 2026 after 10 weeks of friendly competition, teamwork, and community-building.

TOA Global’s Director for Event Experience and Programs, Deanna Marie Florendo, thanked the Sportsfest participants “not just for showing up, but really dedicating time, effort, energy, compassion for each other, and genuinely upholding the true meaning of our sports festival.”

“And that is building a community and making everybody feel that they truly belong.”

Employee engagement for accounting teams

While 82 individuals and 14 teams received medals and prizes, Sportsfest had a bigger circle of winners. It provided participants with opportunities to reconnect with passions beyond work and build stronger connections with colleagues.

That’s why it remains one of the most highly anticipated programs that support employee engagement for accounting teams.

TOA Global has been testing accounting talent retention strategies since 2013. We’ve helped more than 1,200 international clients grow their business by building, training, and rewarding a dedicated offshore accounting workforce for them.

Talent engagement that makes people feel valued

Sportsfest was particularly important after the Covid-19 pandemic “because it helped rebuild human connections and gave team members a sense of community again during the transition back to office life,” said Jemelyn Bas, TOA Global’s Head of Talent Management.

As one of the organization’s most anticipated talent engagement programs, Sportsfest “creates a space where employees from different backgrounds, personalities, and skill levels can feel included and valued whether they’re competing, supporting their teams, volunteering, or simply showing up to cheer others on.”

Andrea Lisa Mendoza, an Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist in our NA Remote Team, chose to travel more than 71 kilometers from Pangasinan to Tarlac just to make it to her badminton matches.

“One moment that stood out was during a game when everything just felt fun—no pressure. I was fully in the moment, making simple plays, and just enjoying being out there. It reminded me that sometimes your biggest contribution isn’t stats—it’s the mindset and atmosphere you bring.”

A high-performance accounting workforce

Creating positive experiences for everyone who builds their careers with TOA Global is a priority. Our clients depend on a high-performance accounting workforce that:

Arnel Guzman joined his first TOA Global Sportsfest in Cebu this year and achieved impressive milestones. His volleyball team won the championship, and Arnel secured a first runner-up finish in men’s singles badminton.

“Sportsfest matters because it brings people together in a way that regular workdays can’t. It gives us the chance to see each other beyond our roles and departments and connect through shared experiences,” wrote Arnel, who works as a Client Excellence Coordinator for one of our North American clients.

Retaining top accounting talent

“Winning was a highlight for me, but what I’ll remember most are the friendships, conversations, and support from everyone throughout the event. Those moments help create a culture that feels more connected, engaging, and human—and that lasts long after Sportsfest is over.”

More than fun and games, the Sportsfest is one of the many ways TOA Global invests in retaining top accounting talent that know and trust one another, solve problems together, and adapt to change more confidently, both on a game court and in their day-to-day work.
